phase5 plays at the "Eye Ball"

We were so thrilled when phase5 was asked to play for the "Eye Ball" benefiting the Lion's Eye Institute. We had some tough shoes to fill as last years entertainment was Scott McEntire from American Idol. It was also our first time playing in a stadium. It was an amazing event to be a part of. Brooke Palmer of RSBP Events did an incredible job overseeing the team of vendors that included Showorks, Botanica, Baystage Lighting, The Raymond James Staff, and I am sure many others. On hand to help were also Tampa Bay Buccaneer players Ryan Neece, Bryan Price and Andrew Economos. phase5 played an acoustic set of holiday music and other favorites as the families were served. Check out our LED dance floor at the Tampa Bridal Showcase at the A La Carte Event Pavilion. The show was designed by Monica Varner of Elan Event Studios. Decor was provided by MMD Events. Our LED dance floor provided a great space for a performance by Arthur Murray School of Dance, an aerialist, a fashion show and a performance by our own phase5 band. The dance floor can be virtually any shape or color. Here you can see two different color palettes that we used for different looks.

The reception of Nikki and Steve took place at the Marriott Waterside on Harbour Island. The bride and groom booked our phase5|dj combination. Guests entered to the live band playing a mix of acoustic songs as well as standards. At the conclusion of dinner, phase5 packed the dance floor playing a combination of Motown, Disco and Top40. Josh Walther took over as DJ for the last hour which created a fun "After Party" feel. At the end of the night the guests gave Nikki and Steve their well wishes as they cruised out of the Marriott Waterside's Marina by boat. Check out these great photos by Sarah from Limelight.

Lorraine and Matt were married at the Crosley Mansion in Sarasota. The Crosley is one of my favorite venues in this area. The ceremony took place on the steps of the historic estate. The bride made a memorable entrance from the 2nd story staircase. Guests were invited to cocktail hour which took place under the pavilion by the bay. Dinner was served inside of the house. After dinner the guests were invited back outside for dancing. We provided music for the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dancing. Chelsea and Casey were married in early November at the Sirata Beach Resort on St. Pete Beach. It was a picture perfect day! The ceremony took place on the beach and the guests moved to the courtyard for an outdoor cocktail hour and reception. We lit the outside of the hotel with LED strips using a deep purple. It created the perfect backdrop for the evening. The guests packed the dance floor all night. Brooke Palmer did an extraordinary job planning and coordinating the event. A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of providing music and lighting for the wedding of Nick and Kelley at the Sheraton on Sand Key Beach. Due to bad weather, the ceremony was moved from the beach to inside of the hotel. We provided some additional uplighting which created a romantic candlelight feel for the ceremony. The bride and groom chose a midnight blue color for the reception. The wedding was coordinated by Cindy Stonehouse of Stonehouse Events and More. Florals were designed by Jana Stall of Events in Bloom. I also had the pleasure of seeing a brand new concept called The Photo Lounge. Guests were able to take fun pictures as well as leave video messages for the bride and groom. The bride and groom danced with their guests until very late into the evening. This Halloween I played at an Adams Family themed party at a private loft in Channelside. The party was hosted by Dr. Nucci of Nucci Chiropractic. The guests were treated to fun hors d'oeuvres and cocktails all inspired by the theme of the night. Everyone danced until the early hours of morning.

Last weekend we played at the wedding of Niccell and Jeremy. I had looked forward to this wedding since I met the bride almost a year ago. She described her wedding at that meeting with such excitement and passion. I knew then that it would be amazing and it was! The ceremony and reception took place at the Don Vicente in Ybor. The Don Vicente is one of my favorite venues to work. The atmosphere is so classic and the food is always amazing. As for music, we used hot jazz lounge beats during cocktails and dinner. Last weekend I had the chance to be a part of an extremely unique wedding! Ben & Kristin were married at The Ritz in Ybor. The wedding had a "Beatles" theme as the groom is from Liverpool. Each table was named after a classic Beatles tune. The ceremony took place on the stage under a beautiful pergola that was built by Scott of Apple Blossom Florists. Once the ceremony ended the main curtain was pulled and I was set up behind the pergola. It really seemed like all 300 of the guests made their way to the dance floor and danced the night away! The event was planned to perfection by Tiffany of A-list Events and Lovelynn of Grand Events. The delicious pasta stations were provided by Amici's Catering. The Staff of The Ritz was extremely brilliant to work with as well. Here are a few pics that I took with my iphone.

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of playing at the wedding of Beryl and Kenneth. The ceremony and reception took place at the Crosley Museum. As we were about to have the bride and grooms first dance, the power in the museum went out. One of the transformers had been hit by lightning. We were able to keep playing music throughout the night without power. There were no lights so we had to come up with creative ways for everyone to see what was going on. Horatio from StudioFourPhotography.com did an amazing job capturing this event. Even without any lighting, he was able to capture the romantic mood of the evening!

Kristina and Jay were married at the Don Cesar Beach Resort on April 11, 2009. It was such a joy to be a part of such a sweet couples wedding. The ceremony was held on the courtyard steps and the reception took place in the north terrace. We used blue LED uplighting to give the room a romantic glow. The music selections ranged from romantic standards to current dance tunes. Staci Mandikas from Unique Event Design did an amazing job heading up the all star team of vendors that included Voila Cinematic, Limelig ht Photography, Fish Hawk Flowers, and of course the wonderful staff of the Don Cesar. I love it when a wedding is so sweet and genuine that everyone leaves with a great feeling. The wedding of Chad and Ellen at The Don Cesar has been one of my favorites this year. It is awesome to be able to look at two people and see the love between them. It was so important to the bride and groom to include their children in all of the festivities. They wanted the wedding to be fun and unique. We used upbeat party music for the cocktail/dinner portion of the evening and then transitioned to Top 40, 80's, and other crowd favorites for dancing. I also had the chance to work with Rachel Absher. She did a great job capturing such a great event!

Kelly & Eric were married this February at the Grand Plaza on St. Pete Beach. It was a fantastic event planned by Cindy Stonehouse of Stonehouse Events and More. The music selection consisted of the bride and grooms favorite indie artists during dinner and top 40 favorites mixed with some old school once the party was in full swing. The lighting featured amber uplighting on the window pains. As the evening progressed we changed the colors a bit to create more of a "lounge" atmosphere. Kelly and Eric were truly a joy to work with. I also had the pleasure of working with J erry McGaghey for the first time. He is an awesome photographer as you can see from the photos that he provided.

It was a picture perfect day on the beach as Christina & Ryan were married on March 14th. The ceremony took place in a courtyard that overlooked the water. The reception had an "Ocean" theme using sea like shades of green and blue. The huge windows allowed for a great view of the ocean. We were able to match the color of the uplighting units perfectly to the color of the ocean. It was also great that the water was such a beautiful color that day. I also had the pleasure of working with Erin & Chris from ErinChris Photography for the first time. They were so kind to provide me with some great photos from the wedding.

This Valentines Day was fantastic. I got to spend the day with some of my best friends in the wedding industry. John and Johnna were married at the Don Cesar in St. Petersburg. Everything about the event was top notch. The Grand Ballroom was draped with beautiful fabric from Quest Drape. The centerpieces, linens, floral design and furniture by Ian of Botanica were breathtaking. Alex and Jocelyn from Voila Cinematic and Rebecca and Michael from Limelight Photography were amazing as always! It was also great to work with Lisa at the Don Cesar. We provided DJ service as well as LED uplighting throughout the room. Quest Drape created a lounge adjacent to the dance floor. The lounge was opened after dinner and included LED furniture as well as an additional bar and coffee and chocolate station. It was huge hit!

Did you know that we also specialize in LED uplighting? You can now add uplighting to any of our packages. We also offer "lighting only" packages. Uplighting is a great way to give any venue a unique transformation. We carry LED strips and par cans that can provide up to 16 million different colors. You can use the same color all evening or have the colors change throughout the evening. These units work great with drapery and on any wall or column. They are also great for lighting ceilings and plants. LED technology is great because it requires very little power and the units never get hot.

This wedding is definatly at the top of my list of favorites. Melissa & Brian Dude were married on December 27, 2008 at the Don Cesar in St. Petersburg. It was a fantastic wedding planned by Shannon Wilson of Table 6 Productions. We did pink uplighting around the room to give the room a nice transformation. Bridget and James Nunez were married on Saturday, October 11 at the Sacred Heart Cathedral. The reception was at the Don Vicente Ybor. James is from Jamaica, so they wanted a mix of Reggae and current Top 40 Dance music. They are an extremely nice couple and I really enjoyed being a part of such a fantastic event. Here is the note that Bridget sent in!

Dear Josh-
Since mine was a destination wedding and we had never met, I was a little nervous as to how the music would turn out. But after talking to you on the phone, you were able to come up with a play list of exactly what we wanted and really make the night special. Our guests ranged in age from 1 year old to 85 and everyone loved the music and had a great time. You were able to accommodate all last minute requests and I appreciated that so much! (Are there any songs that you don’t have?) As a marketing director, I have planned a lot of parties over the years and would rate you as my top pick for entertainment. You came highly recommended to me and now I definitely highly recommend you!

Things have been crazy lately and this is the first chance I have had to post in a few weeks. It was a true honor to be a part of the wedding of Tala & Kevin Brack. We did LED uplighting on all of the columns and walls at the Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg. Tala & Kevin are probably the most creative couple that I have had the pleasure of working with. They truly wanted to create a unique experience for their guests! I will post pictures as soon as I get them. Below is the letter that they sent in.

We really can't thank Inspire Entertainment enough for the spectacular job they did at our wedding. From when we first met Josh- we felt that he totally got what we wanted- and it really ended up being even better than we could have imagined it to be! It was so easy working with him- (he is so personable and friendly)- and he always got back to us promptly- and he just seemed to assimilate all our requests really easily. Our main goal was to keep everyone on the dance floor for as much of the night as possible- and I can objectively say that I've never seen so many people on a dance floor at a wedding- for so long! We know we had some difficult requests- ( a belly-dancer who had her own music, a slide show which was incompatible with 20th century electronics, a speech my sister wanted to sing with a backing track...the list goes on!)- but Inspire Entertainment dealt with any issue with such ease we didn't even feel that there were difficulties. The night could not have gone more seamlessly- and I totally thank Josh for this. It wasn't just the music which was incredible- I think what really set the stage for the night was the lighting. I really wanted the area to feel like it was like a lounge- but didn't want it to feel too clubby. Josh went and scoped out the room- and came back with recommendations about the lighting. We totally agreed with what he was saying- and he couldn't have been more right! He put up several LED lights throughout the room- and changed the colors in the room as the evening wore on. The room just looked beautiful all night- and the lighting was so perfect that I frequently felt like I was in a movie- of a wedding! It was actually surreal how well Josh had visualized what we couldn't quite explain! So- really I want to thank Inspire Entertainment (as do countless of my friends and family members who have told me that it was the most fun they've had at a wedding- and asked us numerous times where we found our DJ!)- for their professionalism, vision, hard work, and for making our wedding the night that it was for us. Going with Inspire Entertainment was easily the best decision that we made!

This past Saturday I had the privilege of playing at the wedding of Jessica and Jay Bezanson. It was a beautiful event at Feather Sound Country Club in Clearwater. The wedding had a "memories" theme with pictures of the couple and various family photo's displayed throughout the room. The first dance was "Making Memories of Us" by Keith Urban. The father/daughter dance was especially unique. Mike, The father of the bride sent me a recording of the bride singing "Superman" when she was a tiny little girl. It was definatly an emotional moment. The guests loved it!

The staff at Feather Sound were amazing! I also had the privilege of working with Rebecca & Michael from Limelight again! It is always a thrill to work with people that have so much passion for what they are doing!

This past weekend I played at Alex Dennis and Tye Reedy's engagement party in Dade City. The event was awesome and everyone danced until the wee hours of morning. I am really looking forward to the wedding!

It looks like December will be an even busier month for us. I am looking forward to seeing everyone at all of our events this month.

On Veterans Day I played at the wedding and reception of Sheryl and Pete Mckay. It was a beautiful event at the Davis Island Garden Club. Special thanks to the photographer, Laura Russo. Diane and the catering staff at Amici's were awesome. The food was great and I enjoyed working with them.
